SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners will be looking to get back above .500 in the second of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels at 6:40 p.m. PT on Tuesday at T-Mobile Park.

The Mariners beat the Angels 6-2 in game one of the series Monday. But unfortunately for the M's, they'll be without two of their most effective sluggers while trying to secure the series win.

If Seattle wins game two against Los Angeles, it will snap a three-series losing streak, which began in the team's last homestand against the Boston Red Sox and continued in its most recent road trip against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Guardians.

Unfortunately for the Mariners, they'll be without two of their most prolific sluggers for the second game of the series.

Designated hitter/outfielder Dominic Canzone (left hamstring soreness) and outfielder Luke Raley (left forearm fatigue) will both get a rest day Tuesday. Seattle manager Dan Wilson said ideally neither player will be available in pinch-hit situations.

Canzone contributed to Seattle's win Monday. He hit a solo home run and finished the game 1-for-3 with a run. His homer bolstered the Mariners' lead to 4-2.

The rest day Tuesday coupled with the club's off-day Wednesday will give both Canzone and Raley two days' rest before playing the final four of a six-game homestand.

Raley last suited up in the second of a three-game series against the Guardians on Saturday.

Per Wilson, there's not immediate worry that either will need an injured list. Canzone has been restricted to a designated hitter role due to his hamstring injury and Raley's current fatigue is attributed to his non-throwing arm.

Raley has been in-and-out of the lineup over the last two weeks due to a combination of his aforementioned arm fatigue, back tightness and flu-like symptoms.

"Getting the rest that we can here on a day-to-day basis," Wilson said in a pregame interview Tuesday. "Being smart about that I think definitely will allow us to keep (Raley) off the IL."

With Canzone on the bench, outfielder Randy Arozarena will move to the DH spot, Victor Robles will play in left field and Weston Wilson will suit up in right field.

"(Arozarena) and (Julio Rodriguez) play so much out in the outfield," Wilson said. "(This is) a chance with Randy, having had the hamstring a little earlier, a chance for him to get a little bit of a break today."

Raley has slashed .238/.302/.485 with a .787 OPS in 73 games and has hit seven doubles, a triple and 14 home runs with 35 RBIs this year. His 14 homers are tied with Julio Rodriguez for the most on the team this season.

Canzone has slashed .273/.347/.552 with an .899 OPS in 75 contests this season and has hit 13 doubles, a triple and 13 homers with 34 RBIs.
