In honor of their 50th season, the Mariners assembled the 50 greatest players to suit up in the Pacific Northwest.
SEATTLE — Before a game between the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday at T-Mobile Park, the Mariners celebrated the greatest players in team history.
In the midst of its 50th season, Seattle put together a pregame ceremony before the game honoring the 50 Greatest Mariners of all time.
The Mariners kicked off the event by honoring the only two late members on the list: Julio Cruz and Dave Henderson.
Here's a full list of the 50 players honored Saturday, which was selected by a combination of fan votes, former players, local media and former team officials:

The list included seven players currently on the team: Crawford, Raleigh, Rodriguez, Kirby, Gilbert, Woo and Munoz. Castillo also was with the team to start the season but was traded to the Chicago White Sox the week of the MLB trade deadline this season.
The list also included five National Baseball Hall of Famers: Beltre, Suzuki, Griffey, Johnson and Martinez. Suzuki (No. 51), Johnson (No. 51), Griffey (No. 24) and Martinez (No. 11) all have their numbers retired by the organization and those four received a special introduction to close out the listing of the 50 greatest players.
Outside of Castillo, who's currently playing with Chicago, and the late Cruz and Henderson, only three players were unable to attend Saturday's event: Cano, Garcia and Seager. All three of the absent players sent videos that Seattle played on the jumbo screen at T-Mobile Park.
Following the introduction of the 50 greatest players, Mariners CEO/chairman John Stanton took the mic to announce that 41-year broadcaster, Rick Rizzs, will be inducted into the team Hall of Fame.
Rizzs will join former broadcast partner and colleague, the late Dave Niehaus, as the only non-uniformed member of the team's Hall of Fame.
To end the event, former manager Lou Piniella, surrounded by several of the players he led during his tenure in the Pacific Northwest, threw the ceremonial first pitch.
Before Rizzs' introduction was announced, a member of the 50 greatest players and the man known as "Mr. Mariner," Alvin Davis, addressed the crowd, Rizzs, and the current Seattle team.
Davis told the team that people have doubted the Mariners for 49 years and to prove them wrong, and the fans and all the former players on the field Saturday right.
It was almost a year ago exactly Suzuki's No. 51 was retired by the organization. During his speech, he told the team to "seize the moment," which became the rallying cry for a 2025 Seattle team that won the American League West and made it to the American League Championship Series, both for the first time since 2001.
The Mariners will hope that Davis' speech, plus the history brought with the 50 greatest Seattle players Saturday, will provide a similar spark.
