The pair of Seattle professional teams did something no other city did this season.

The last calendar year has been an amazing time to be a Seattle sports fan.

The Seattle Mariners made it closer to the World Series than it ever has in history, advancing all the way to Game 7 of the American League Championship Series. Catcher Cal Raleigh also had the greatest season by a catcher in MLB history, breaking the single-season major league record for home runs by a catcher and switch-hitter (60).

The Seattle Seahawks also recently clinched the No. 1 seed for the NFC in the NFL playoffs and earned a bye through the wild card round, guaranteeing home-field advantage at Lumen Field in Seattle.

The Seahawks won the NFC West and the Mariners won the American League West, marking the first time ever that the two teams have accomplished that feat in the same year.

Beyond that, Seattle is now the only city to accomplish this fun feat.

MORE MARINERS STORIES

According to a post on "X" from Alex Mayer of the M's communications staff, Seattle is the only city to have an NFL team with five All-Pros (Seahawks) and an MLB team with five All-Stars (Mariners).

The five NFL players to be named All-Pros were wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, defensive lineman Leonard Williams, linebacker Ernest Jones IV, cornerback Devon Witherspoon and punter Michael Dickson.

Smith-Njigba was a first-team All-Pro and Williams, Jones IV, Witherspoon and Dickson were all second-team All-Pros.

The five major leaguers to be named All-Stars were Raleigh, outfielders Julio Rodriguez and Randy Arozarena, closer Andres Munoz and starting pitcher Bryan Woo.

Arozarena was named as a replacement for Rodriguez, who opted to skip the Midsummer Classic in efforts to prep himself for the second half of the season.

The M's were unable to win their first World Series in franchise history but the Seahawks still have a legitimate chance to win their second-ever Super Bowl.

The Seahawks will place one-of-two NFC West rivals in the Divisional round of the playoffs: the San Francisco 49ers or the Los Angeles Rams.

The 49ers are scheduled to play the Philadelphia Eagles at 1:30 p.m. PT on Jan. 11. If the 49ers win, the Seahawks will play them in the Divisional at a to-be-determined time either Jan. 16 or Jan. 17. If the Eagles win, the Seahawks will play the Rams in the Divisional round.
