Dan Wilson spoke to the media for the first time on Wednesday.

Brady Farkas of the 'Refuse to Lose' podcast with updates from the first day of spring training.

Speaking in front of the media for the first time this spring, Seattle Mariners manager Dan Wilson gave a good round of injury news, saying he's got no new injury updates and nothing unexpected to report.

That's welcome news, especially after the rash of injuries we've already seen in the early days of camps. Francisco Lindor (Mets), Jackson Holliday (Orioles) and Corbin Carroll (Diamondbacks) have all suffered hamate bone injuries, while Spencer Schwellenbach (Braves) is already on the 60-day injured list.

This is on top of the injury news that we've been following with Josh Hader (Houston Astros) and Anthony Santander/Shane Bieber (Toronto Blue Jays).

While the injury situation right now is good for the Mariners, it's not perfect overall. We learned two weeks ago that right-handed pitcher Logan Evans will miss the entire season while he recovers from Tommy John surgery, which is a setback for the team's overall depth.

This has a domino affect on the M's and may prevent them from being able to utilize Emerson Hancock in the bullpen. They might be forced to keep him as starting rotation depth as a result of losing Evans in that role.

Also on the M's...

--New Mariners infielder Brendan Donovan, recently acquired in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, will work primarily at third base this spring. That was noted by Adam Jude of the Seattle Times and Donovan discussed it in his first media availability as well. He said he was excited to work with M's infield coach Perry Hill and really appreciates the way that Hill simplifies things.

--The first Cactus League game is coming up on Feb. 20 against the San Diego Padres. Mariners Roundtable will have live coverage from spring training. Brady Farkas will be attending the first four Cactus League games of the season while Teren Kowatsch will be present in early March.

--The newest episode of the 'Refuse to Lose' podcast is out, featuring M's radio broadcaster Gary Hill Jr. You can hear his thoughts on working with Rick Rizzs, the M's loss in Toronto on Game 7, how this team bounces back in 2026 and much more. The next episode with Buster Olney of ESPN comes out on Thursday.
