SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners are fresh off a disappointing road trip in which it went 2-4 and suffered series losses against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Guardians.

The Mariners will have no down time and will kick off a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels at 6:40 p.m. PT on Monday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

Seattle will enter the series 42-43 and a half-game out of first place in the American League West, and it will be doing it with several players either set to miss time or dealing with nagging injuries.

Here's an update on the status of several Mariners players:

The struggling right-handed hitter was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday due to right knee inflammation, which he received an injection for.

"He had injections in his knees last week," Seattle general manager Justin Hollander said Monday. "It had been bothering him for quite a while now. I know he's referenced that a couple times when asked about it. He's not making an excuse in any way. But I think we're to a point where he just doesn't feel like his foundation is stable enough to do the things he needs to be able to do."

Recently-acquired infielder Buddy Kennedy reported to the club Monday and will take Refsnyder's spot on the roster.

Refsnyder is slashing .133/.203/.219 with a .422 OPS in 49 games and has hit three home runs with nine RBIs.

Raley is dealing with a "left forearm issue" and will be examined by doctors Tuesday night, per Hollander. His status over the next "couple" days is still to-be-determined.

"Luke's pretty adamant that he can and wants to play through it," Hollander said. "Luke is about the toughest player I've ever seen. ... If he says 'I can and wan't to play through it,' my guess is he will. But we'll know more about that today."

Canzone is dealing with lingering soreness in his left hamstring but will attempt to play through it. He'll be limited to a designated hitter role and will hit third in the lineup against Los Angeles on Tuesday.

"Right now, he wants to play through this and feels like he can contribute in the batter's box," Hollander said. " ... If we get to a point where he can't (play through it), he won't."

-- Right-handed relievers Matt Brash (right lat strain) and Cooper Criswell (right pec strain) are set to undergo follow-up MRIs for their respective injuries July 6. If the images come up clean, both will begin throwing progressions. Barring any further setbacks, both could be eyeing returns in August.

-- Utility player Brendan Donovan had a "really good week last week," per Hollander. He's started to ramp up his running program and has gone through a full routine in the batting cages. They will continue to build his progression this week and reevaluate after.
