The Seattle Mariners fought through a tumultuous five-game American League Divisional Series against the Detroit Tigers.
The Mariners advanced to their first American League Championship Series since 2001 after a 3-2, 15-inning win against the Tigers in Game 5 of the ALDS on Friday.
Seattle will head up north for Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, which begins at 5:03 p.m. PT on Sunday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
And one of the Mariners best players is coming off a stellar showing in the ALDS.
Seattle's best offensive performer across the ALDS was 2025 All-Star Cal Raleigh.
In the ALDS, Raleigh hit .381 (8-for-21) with two runs, a double, a home run and four RBIs. He drew four walks (one intentionally) and hit safely in all five games.
Raleigh had arguably the greatest offensive season by a catcher in MLB history this year. In the regular season, he scored 110 runs in 159 games and hit 24 doubles and 60 home runs with 125 RBIs. He slashed .247/.359/.589 with a .948 OPS. His 60 homers were the most in a single season by a catcher and switch-hitter in MLB history.
Based on his past performances, Raleigh will likely be able to keep his solid postseason going.
In 24 games against the Blue Jays, Raleigh has scored 17 runs and has hit two doubles and 10 home runs with 20 RBIs. He's slashed .274/.361/.655 with a 1.016 OPS. Seven of his 10 home runs were at Rogers Centre in Tacoma.
Toronto and the Mariners have played each other once in the postseason: the best-of-three 2022 wild card that Seattle won 2-0.
In that series, Raleigh hit .500 (4-for-8), scored four runs and hit a double and a home run with three RBIs.
Bryce Miller will start for the Mariners in Game 1 of the ALCS and Kevin Gausman will start for the Blue Jays.
