Latest Miami Marlins injury updates: Anthony Bender, Andrew Nardi, and Graham Pauley trend toward Opening Day while Aiva Arquette faces a delay.

With Opening Day approaching, the Miami Marlins are beginning to see encouraging movement on the injury front, according to the frequently updated tracker from Fish On First. While a few key pitchers remain long-term absences, several contributors appear on track to break camp healthy.

Bullpen Reinforcements on Schedule

Right-hander Anthony Bender , who ended the 2025 season on the 60-day injured list with a right tibial stress reaction, threw a live batting practice session on Friday. That’s a significant step forward, and the projection is that he’ll be ready for Opening Day. For a bullpen that leaned heavily on depth last year, Bender’s availability could stabilize late-inning roles early in 2026.

Similarly, Andrew Nardi has progressed well after battling a left finger blister and prior back inflammation. He’s completed multiple live batting-practice sessions and is scheduled for another outing soon. Like Bender, Nardi is trending toward being active when the regular season begins.

Janson Junk, recovering from a Grade-1 right ankle sprain, has already thrown off a mound. His timeline also points toward opening-day readiness, offering additional rotation depth or long-relief.

Position Player Updates: Pauley, Stowers, Arquette

Infielder Graham Pauley took live batting practice on Saturday and is scheduled to make his Grapefruit League debut as a designated hitter. After dealing with right forearm tightness, Pauley’s return to game action is a key development in what could be a competitive infield picture.

Outfielder Kyle Stowers exited late February with a Grade-1 right hamstring strain, but projections still have him ready for Opening Day. Given his expected role in the lineup, avoiding a prolonged absence is crucial.

On the minor-league side, top prospect Aiva Arquette underwent core muscle surgery on Friday and is expected to miss four to six weeks. He’ll likely begin the season on the injured list, temporarily delaying his 2026 development timeline.

Long-Term Setbacks Remain

Not all updates are positive. As was reported on Dec. 23 by Fish On First, Ronny Henriquez likely will miss the entire 2026 season after he had surgery to reconstruct his right elbow. His absence will test organizational pitching depth throughout the year.

Overall, the Marlins’ health outlook is cautiously optimistic. While some high-upside talent faces early-season delays, the bulk of the projected Opening Day roster appears to be trending in the right direction -- an encouraging sign for a club that understands availability is often the difference between contention and another rebuilding year.
