The Miami Marlins now turn their attention to the offseason, with several injury updates announced Tuesday.

MIAMI — The Miami Marlins finished the 2026 campaign 80-82, one game better than their 79-83 mark in 2025.

That record wasn't enough to qualify for the playoffs, as the club missed the postseason for the second consecutive season under manager Clayton McCullough.

On Tuesday, the same day Marlins President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix spoke to reporters during his end-of-season media availability, the club provided several injury updates on key players.

Reliever Anthony Bender is expected to be ready for spring training after missing time this season with a lingering right shin stress reaction. Bender elected to undergo surgery Sept. 23, which the Marlins expect will allow him to be available when the club begins preparations for the 2027 season.

Reliever Ronny Henriquez missed the entire 2026 season after undergoing UCL surgery on his right elbow in December 2025. Like Bender, the Marlins say Henriquez will be ready for spring training.

Starting right-hander Max Meyer dealt with a neck injury that limited him this season. Meyer had his best year as a Marlin, joining shortstop Otto Lopez as the club’s two representatives in the All-Star Game.

Meyer finished 2026 with a 9-1 record and a 2.68 ERA in 20 starts. He is expected to be ready for spring training as the Marlins prepare him for the start of the 2027 season.

Outfielder Owen Caissie, in his first year with the Marlins, dealt with a lumbar stress injury that landed him on the injured list. He is expected to be ready for spring training and will have the offseason to continue his recovery.

Right-hander Adam Mazur, who is recovering from right elbow surgery that sidelined him for all of 2026, is expected to throw off a mound during spring training. The Marlins anticipate his return to game action in April or May 2027.

Left-hander Robby Snelling is recovering from an elbow injury and is expected to return to game action in May or June 2027. The timeline would give him additional time to build back up before returning to competitive action.

Snelling made one start in May before experiencing discomfort that resulted in Tommy John surgery.

Reliever Pete Fairbanks is scheduled to undergo surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome Oct. 8. His recovery timeline will become clearer following the procedure. Fairbanks is scheduled to become a free agent and isn’t likely to return to the Marlins in 2027.

Some unfortunate news for a few players, including pitchers William Kempner and Andrew Nardi.

Kempner, who last pitched July 11 at loanDepot park, is dealing with a right elbow sprain and is expected to miss the majority or all of the 2027 season.

Nardi, who last pitched May 27, is dealing with an elbow injury and also is expected to miss the majority or all of the 2027 season. His recovery is expected to be a long-term process.

Right-hander Tyler Zuber is dealing with an elbow injury and will see Dr. Keith Meister for further evaluation. No timetable was provided for his return.

It was also reported Tuesday that outfielder Jakob Marsee, who showed some incredible defense this season and really turned on his offensive game in the second half, felt left elbow discomfort and will visit Dr. Meister for further evaluation.
