Eury Perez brings a dominant daytime ERA and history of stifling Toronto hitters to the mound as Miami’s surging middle infield looks to clinch a crucial series victory.

The Miami Marlins send Eury Perez to the mound in hopes of securing a series win in a rubber match against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Perez, set to make his 12th start of the season, is coming off a solid start against the New York Mets on Friday. The only run he allowed on Friday was a solo home run to Juan Soto in the first inning. It was also his first start that didn’t involve a walk.

Perez has had past success against the Blue Jays. In his two previous career starts against Toronto, Perez has allowed only two earned runs and six hits with 13 strikeouts through 12 total innings.

Perez is at his best during matinees, posting a 3.49 ERA with 138 strikeouts in 121.1 innings over 24 career day games.
