The New York Mets got shutout last night in Pittsburgh, but today's game was the opposite of that.

The New York Mets recovered from a bad night offensively to route the Pittsburgh Pirates, 11-1, behind a five-hit game for Bo Bichette as the Mets pounded out sixteen hits and a pair of homers to win the three-series to go with victories in five of their last six games.

This was a day in which everyone hit for the Mets, who got on the board in the top of the first as Carson Benge announced his return to the lineup after sustaining a wrist injury as he singled home the first run off Pirates starter Jared Jones. Luis Robert Jr. followed up with a sacrifice fly to score Francisco Lindor to make it 2-0 right out of the gate.

The Mets doubled their lead in the fourth on a monster two-run  homer to right-center from Luis Robert Jr.. Jared Young followed with a triple on a single that went to the wall when center fielder Nick Mangum dove to make a play and missed, and Marcus Semien followed up with a single to make it 5-0.

The Pirates got on the board off Manaea in the third as Mangum atoned for his gaffe with a surprising solo home run to make it 5-1, but the Mets broke the game open by putting up another crooked number in the fourth inning.

The rally started with a HBP to Francisco Alvarez and walks to A.J. Ewing to go with some bad body language from Jones, who was removed by Pirates manager Don Kelly in a very unhappy mound visit. Bichette greeted reliever Evan Sisk with a three-run double to the wall in left, and Young singled in Bichette to make it 9-1 after four frames

Most of the rest was window dressing, with Alzvarez homering in the fifth and Robert driving home another run in the seventh with an RBI single.

The new and improved version of starter Sean Manaea is proving to be a real thing, and Manaea cruised through seven innings as he gave up just one run on three hits to go with 11 strikeouts. No Mets game is complete without a reliever making his debut for the team, and Jack Weisenburger finished up with two scoreless innings to complete the runaway.
