Despite major leaguers leaving, the New York Mets' Double-A Binghamton team boasts a stacked roster, one of best in all of the minors.
The New York Mets have a lot of superstars on their Major League roster.
This list includes Juan Soto, Bo Bichette and Nolan Mclean, as well as Freddy Peralta. The Mets saw Pete Alonso and Edwin Diaz leave in free agency, so there are a lot of new faces in Queens after a busy offseason.
The Peralta trade saw some of their big minor league names leave, especially star prospect Jett Williams and pitcher Brandon Sproat, but the Mets felt it was worth it to acquire a pitcher with the talent of Peralta.
However, the Mets still have plenty of talent in the minor leagues.
Sam Dykstra of MLB.com named 10 of the most prospect-packed rosters in all of the minors, and one affiliate of the Mets made the list: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, at No. 10.
A.J. Ewing is the top prospect on Dykstra's list from the Rumble Ponies, and here's what he wrote about the Mets' Double-A affiliate.
"Ewing is a spark-plug who can put the ball in the gaps, show speed around the bases and play a quality center field. Jonathan Santucci, Will Watson and Zach Thornton look to build on their successful 2025s...Jacob Reimer might not be long for Binghamton if he can pound the ball much like he did last summer (17 homers, .491 SLG across three levels). Watch out for 6-foot-5 outfielder Eli Serrano III, a popular breakout pick trying to add improved pop in his second full season."
Eli Serrano III is an interesting name here, and he was playing for the North Carolina Wolfpack not too long ago.
He was selected in the fourth round by the Mets in 2024, and he hit .222 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs in the minors in 2025.
As Dykstra notes, Jacob Reimer is a player who could quickly make his way to Triple-A Syracuse soon, especially if he picks up where he left off in 2025.
Reimer posted an absurd slash line in the minors, and he did something not many others did last season.
Reimer is also the No. 2 third base prospect according to MLB Pipeline, but the Mets signed Bo Bichette in free agency and moved him to third base, so it remains to be seen what position Reimer plays when he gets called up, although it could still be one more season before he joins the big league club.
The Mets' pitching trio of Jonathan Santucci, Will Watson and Zach Thornton all are names to watch, and the Mets' rich room of pitchers in the farm system made the Peralta trade that much easier, even with having to move Sproat.
Right now, the Mets have plenty of talent in the minor leagues, and this is just at the Double-A level, but that could make for an interesting trade package if the front office wants to add another big name at the deadline.
