The 2026 World Baseball Classic rosters were revealed on Thursday night, and the New York Mets will be represented by 17 players, eight of whom are major leaguers, in the tournament.
Though some of New York’s stars like Francisco Lindor or free agent signee Bo Bichette won’t be playing in the tournament, there are still some of the club’s biggest names set to play in the tournament in early March.
New York’s $765 million man will unsurprisingly be leading the Dominican Republic in the WBC, his second time representing his country in the tournament. In 2023, he went 6 for 15 and finished with a ridiculous 1.500 OPS. Soto will be joined by Mets reliever Huascar Brazoban in representing the Dominican Republic.
Team USA has a couple of Mets representatives, both coming in the form of pitchers. Clay Holmes will participate in his first WBC for his country, while incoming rookie Nolan McLean also earns a spot on a loaded Team USA pitching staff after just eight starts at the major league level. His 2.06 ERA in those games was enough to earn his spot among some of baseball’s best pitchers.
Mexico will also have two Mets on its roster: pitchers Alex Carrillo and Daniel Duarte. Carrillo pitched just three games for New York in 2025, while Duarte hasn’t played in the major leagues since 2024.
Four Mets players will be playing for Israel in this year’s WBC. Minor league reliever Josh Blum will be playing in his first tournament along with pitchers Jordan Geber and Benjamin Simon. Pitcher Robert Stock will make his return to the roster, representing Israel in the 2023 tournament.
Several other Mets have earned their way onto their country’s rosters heading into the tournament, with pitcher Jamdrick Cornelia playing for the Netherlands, pitcher Carlos Guzman for Venezuela, pitcher Daviel Hurtado playing for Cuba, outfielder Nick Morabito for Italy, outfielder Jose Ramos for Panama, infielder Mark Vientos for Nicaragua, and designated hitter Jared Young for Canada.
Following a great offseason that brought in several stars to help return the Mets to the postseason in 2026, fans will have plenty of players to root for in this year’s WBC. As long as every player returns healthy, New York fans will be some of the most spoiled of the tournament.
