First baseman Warming Bernabel was among the five players to be re-assigned in the second round of roster cuts for the Washington Nationals.

After undergoing the first round of roster cuts over the weekend, the Washington Nationals have announced an additional five players who have been re-assigned ahead of Wednesday's exhibition game against Venezuela:

INF Warming Bernabel

Maybe the biggest surprise of the bunch, Bernabel has shown signs of hope during his five games through spring training. Bernabel has recorded five hits in seven at bats including a pair of RBIs through spring training. He finished 2-for-2 in the spring training opening win against the Marlins when he notched both a double and RBI, while he followed it up with an RBI in the 3-2 win against the New York Mets last week. Bernabel arrived in Washington after inking a one year deal back in December.

UTL Phillip Glasser

In six appearances,, Glasser has just one hit thanks to his most recent game against the Houston Astros on Monday, checking second on a double in what ended up being his final at bat of spring training. He ends his spring training appearance with the second-lowest batting average among players to register a hitting statistic with the Nationals so far.

LHP Shinnosuke Ogasawara

One of the two pitchers who drew the nod to take the opening mound in the spring training opener, Ogasawara appeared in just two games for the Nationals and threw 3.1 innings. His first appearance led to one home run allowed while tossing one strikeout and a pair of walks, elevating his preseason ERA to 6.75, before notching four strikeouts across a pair of innings against the Houston Astros on Feb. 27. Ogasawara was among the non-roster invites announced on the Nationals' spring training roster.

OF Andrew Pinckney

Appeared in six games where he registered just one hit in 12 at-bats, becoming one of the very few players to actually eclipse Glasser's .100 batting average. That came in the split roster win against the Astros to open spring training after posting both a double and strikeout across his two at-bats. Pinckney also notched at least one strikeout in all but one of his six appearances, ironically finishing with a pair of strikeouts against the Houston Astros both on Feb. 27 and March 2.

INF Cayden Wallace

Across 12 at bats and five appearances including four in February, Wallace went hitless while his walk against the St. Louis Cardinals on Feb. 24 led to his lone RBI this spring. Wallace also recorded one strikeout in each of his first four appearances, ending a deflating spring for the 24 year old third baseman.
