The Washington Nationals have watched a handful of prospects stick out in the Arizona Fall League, including an outfield prospect
The Washington Nationals have a handful of prospects suiting up in the Arizona Fall League with several sticking out with dazzling performances. That includes in the outfield, too.
Salt River Rafters outfielder Teo Banks was named among the top performers in week two of the offseason league, an encouraging sign for the 23 year old. Banks posted one home run, a pair of RBIs and a double while going 7-for-17 through the week. Through 11 games, Banks is hitting .342 while notching a .359 OBP, .447 slugging and .806 OPS with four RBIs and three strikeouts. Banks has also recorded five strikeouts across his 38 plate appearances.
His home run proved to loom large in a 6-5 win over the Glendale Desert Dogs on Oct. 13 after taking a 79 mph sweeper the distance with MLB.com recording a 96 mph exit velocity and 23 degree launch angle. His run home run also marked his second RBI of the day as Banks capped off a 3-for-5 performance, while the home run marked his only one so far in the Arizona Fall League.
Banks entered Tuesday ranked tenth across the league with a .342 batting average, while his 13 hits are tied with three others for the second most through the offseason.
The good news? Banks followed it up with a two home run performance on Tuesday night, ending the 11-10 loss with a .366 batting average and 1.005 OPS.
The outfield prospect arrived in the Nationals' organization after being drafted out of Tulane with the 530th overall pick in the 18th round during the 2024 MLB Draft. Banks has since recorded a .251 batting average with six home runs and 38 RBIs in 2026, in addition to notching a .708 OPS and 21 stolen bases across 92 games in High A. Banks also appeared in 55 games in High A in 2025, his first professional season, yet struggled after recording a .123 batting average with 32 strikeouts against just 15 hits in 122 at bats.
Banks also becomes the latest to stick out in the Arizona Fall League after right handed pitcher Jarlin Susana also drew a weekly award earlier in the month after allowing only one earned run with eight strikeouts across 5.2 innings. The encouraging start for Susana came after entering the Arizona Fall League with a chance to prove how he can become part of the Nationals' solution to its pitching woes, Banks will have a chance to showcase his impact in an improved farm system after entering the offseason ranked outside of MLB Pipeline's top 30 prospects within Washington's organization.
