The 30-year-old has played just 64 games since last season.
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Tyler O'Neill has had a rough tenure with the team, but he has time to change that. The Orioles announced that they reinstated the two-time Gold Glove Award-winner from the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday, via social media.
The club also reinstated right-handed reliever Andrew Kittredge (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list. In corresponding moves, it optioned outfielder Johnathan Rodriguez and right-handed pitcher Jose Espada to Triple-A and Double-A, respectively.
O'Neill signed a three-year, $49.5 million deal with Baltimore in December 2024, but he played just 54 games in an injury-riddled 2025 campaign and has played just 10 this season. The 5-foot-9, 200-pounder also slashed just .199/.292/.392 last season.
The Orioles must hope that O'Neill gets back to his 2024 form, when he notched an .847 OPS with 31 homers and 61 RBIs over 113 games for the Boston Red Sox.
Orioles Get Two Key Pieces Back on Friday

Beavers and Basallo each bat from the left side, so O'Neill could become a regular starter against southpaw pitchers if he hits well moving forward.
Meanwhile, Kittredge has yet to make his season debut after Baltimore acquired him from the Chicago Cubs in November. The 36-year-old notched a 3.45 ERA over 31 outings for the Orioles before they traded him to the Cubs last season.
The organization needs Kittredge to be a reliable piece in the bullpen, as its pitching staff is tied for 15th in baseball with a 4.00 ERA so far. The veteran could be the player who takes the staff from average to slightly above-average, which could be the difference between making or missing the playoffs.
Baltimore is 12-13 entering Friday's home matchup with the Boston Red Sox, good for third place in the AL East. It is 1.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for second and four games behind the New York Yankees for first.
Friday's game starts the Orioles' homestand, which includes three-game series against the Red Sox and Houston Astros. Right-handed pitcher Brandon Young will start for Baltimore against right-hander Brayan Bello on Friday, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
After their homestand, the Orioles will hit the road to face the Yankees and Miami Marlins to start their May slate.
