Tatis Jr. and Miller headline a star-studded contingent of Padres players heading to the 2026 World Baseball Classic, ready to compete on the international stage.

The 2026 World Baseball Classic will begin on March 5, 2026, with plenty of MLB players suiting up across the landscape.

On Thursday, the World Baseball Classic rosters were officially announced, with the first game a month away.

For the San Diego Padres, they saw eight MLB-level players make a roster, and several others in the farm system also made the cut.

Here is the full list of Padres players who will be participating in this year's event:

Xander Bogaerts (Netherlands)

Miguel Cienfuegos (Panama)

Alek Jacob (Italy)

Carter Loewen (Canada)

Manny Machado (Dominican Republic)

Josh Mallitz (Israel)

Ron Marinaccio (Italy)

Yuki Matsui (Japan)

Mason Miller (United States)

Wandy Peralta (Dominican Republic)

Fernando Tatis Jr. (Dominican Republic)

All of Mallitz, Loewen and Cienfuegos are minor leaguers in the Padres farm system, and the rest either were on the Opening Day roster last season or spent time with the big league club at some point in 2026.

Machado participated in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, and he has two new teammates, with Wandy Peralta and Tatis playing for the Dominican Republic.

In total, the 2026 WBC rosters include an all-time high of 78 MLB All-Stars, with 35 of them being named an All-Star during the 2025 MLB campaign, so it is a loaded field with plenty of talent across the board.

The exhibition games begin on March 3, before the first pool play game takes place on March 4.

In December, Miller revealed he would pitch for Team USA in the WBC, saying it was something he was super excited to participate in after finishing his first run with the Padres.

Miller was acquired in a blockbuster trade at the deadline, and despite his name circulating in trade rumors, he is expected to be one of the top closers in the MLB in the 2026 season.

Tatis was expected to participate in the 2023 WBC, but he was ineligible due to the suspension he received in 2022.

This past year, Tatis hit .268 with 25 home runs and 71 RBIs in a bounce-back campaign, and seeing him and Machado together on the same WBC team should be fun to watch for Padres fans.

Xander Bogaerts is a staple when it comes to the World Baseball Classic, and the Padres infielder will suit up for the Netherlands once again.

With Spring Training coming soon, these Padres will miss some time as they participate in this year's WBC event, and maybe one of them can win the title.
