Kyle Schwarber knows the Philadelphia Phillies have what it takes to win a World Series. Now, it's about just doing it.

Kyle Schwarber may be on a brand new contract with the Philadelphia Phillies heading into the 2026 season, but the goal remains the same, and the MVP finalist made that crystal clear as the team gets ready to officially get spring training underway.

Schwarber recently talked to the media and reiterated that the team’s main objective is to win a championship, and nothing less.

“This is a team that is very capable of doing what we want to do at the end of the day, and that's holding up a World Series trophy,” explained Schwarber.

This Phillies roster, at its core, will look very familiar to what it did a year ago, but Schwarber still believes that’s good enough for Philadelphia to accomplish its goal of winning a championship.

“There's so many different integral parts of winning the World Series, and there's so many great characteristics about what we have here, and that the capabilities there,” Schwarber explained. “You look at our pitching staff, you see our offense, you see,the way that we play defense.
Like,  everything's there. At the end of the day, we just gotta do it.”

While winning the World Series is clearly the Phillies’ ultimate objective, the team understands there are smaller goals it must achieve to reach that final target.

“At the end of the day, it's just gonna have to come down to us to be able to keep pushing every single day to get in a position.
That's us getting into the playoffs. in a way possible. winning the division, which is a goal of ours every single year. And if it's not that, finding a way into the postseason,” said Schwarber.

“Everyone envisions going down Broad Street, having that parade. It is what it is, and for us to have to, to overcome whatever it is throughout a year, and to be in the postseason, to put ourselves in good positions, to win baseball games in the postseason, it all comes down to."

Even though the playoffs don’t start for another six months, and a Grapefruit League game has yet to be played, Schwarber clearly understands that if the teams want to win a World Series and meet that goal, that preparation and mindset must start right now.
