As the Philadelphia Phillies prepare to host the 2026 All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park, there are several members of the team’s starting lineup who have a strong case to represent the team and the National League in the Midsummer Classic.

The first returns for the All-Star voting are here, and the ballot is filled with Phillies, with some usual suspects and some surprise appearances. 

J.T. Realmuto isn’t having his best season as a member of the Philies, far from it, but he’s still fairly high up in voting among National League catchers.

Realmuto currently has 446,915 votes, which puts him at No. 3, only trailing Will Smith (662,883) and Drake Baldwin (972,813). The Phillies backstop is also currently ahead of some other big-name catchers, such as Williams Contreras.

It’s a little shocking to see Realmuto so high up, but his history of being a solid two-way catcher certainly has fans impressed. 

One of the biggest surprises from these early returns is that Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott is among the leaders among National League second basemen. He’s currently second in the voting with 399,729 votes, while Ozzie Albies is leading the way with 517,147.

Stott is far from a lock to finish in the top two, though. There are three other players with at least 300,000 votes or moes, including Brice Turanf, Hyeseong Kim, and Luis Arraez.

Like Realmuto, Trea Turner isn’t having his best season in terms of offense, but the Philly faithful are still making a strong push to get their starting shortstop to the All-Star Game.

Turner is currently No. 4 in the voting for National League shortstops with 414,652 votes, while CJ Abrams leads the way with 579,796 votes.

Bryce Harper needs quite a bit of help to advance into the next phase of voting. The Phillies’ first baseman is currently third in the race for his position, but is significantly behind the top two leaders.

Freddie Freeman leads the way with 870,606 votes, while Matt Olson is in second place with 802,848.

It would be a shame if Harper doesn’t appear in the All-Star Game this year, considering the offensive season he’s putting together, and the fact that the Midsummer Classic will take place in his home ballpark. Unfortunately, that’s the direction it’s headed right now. 

Certainly, the biggest shock of the first early All-Star voting returns is that Alec Bohm is currently in second place among National League third basemen. 

Max Muncy is pulling away with 941,218 votes in first place, while Bohm only has 386,425. However, it is nice to see the Phillies third baseman so high up after he turned his season around at the plate.

Kyle Schwarber is currently in second place among the voting for designated hitter, alongside Shohei Ohtani, who is in first place. 

Schwarber, who has 820,009 votes, and Ohtani, who has 1,165,133 votes, are significantly pulling away from the rest of the pack.

Brandon Marsh is in the middle of a breakout season at the plate, and fans have recognized this as he’s currently No. 3 among NL outfielders with 668,191 votes. 

Unlike the other position, six outfielders advance to the next round of voting, so Marsh is still in a good position to potentially be named an All-Star for the first time in his career.
