The Philadelphia Phillies have been connected as a possible suitor for a massive free agency signing.

Heading into the MLB offseason, the Philadelphia Phillies are going to be a team to keep a very close eye on. After coming up short once again in the playoffs, there is a chance that Dave Dombrowski could consider making an aggressive move or two.

Of course, the offseason will begin with a big decision for the Phillies to make when it comes to their lineup.

Kyle Schwarber is a free agent. There are quite a few teams around the league who would love to steal him away from Philadelphia. Will the Phillies pay up to keep him?

Should they choose to go in a different direction, an intriguing name has been brought up as a possible fit.

ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan has urged Philadelphia to consider signing Boston Red Sox free agent third baseman Alex Bregman.

"The Phillies don't need to skimp, though. They need an impact bat for the middle of the lineup and an impact person to lead the next generation," Passan wrote. "Considering the work he did in Boston this past season, one player checks all the boxes and offers precisely what the Phillies could use in every regard. Sign free agent third baseman Alex Bregman."

Bregman would be a very interesting fit for the Phillies. He is coming off of a good season with the Red Sox and would be a nice long-term pickup for Philadelphia if that's how the front office chose to spend.

Throughout the course of the 2025 MLB season, Bregman hit 18 home runs to go along with 62 RBI and a slash line of .273/.360/.462. He would bring a different dynamic than Schwarber, but would be a very good replacement option in the lineup.

Perhaps the Phillies could look to get extremely aggressive. How about re-signing Schwarber and adding Bregman? That might be too much to ask for, but it would be a clear all-in move.

Philadelphia is not very far off from being a World Series team. If there was a team to go all-in, it's right now for the Phillies. Whether or not they will do it remains to be seen.

Expect to continue hearing a lot of rumors and rumblings about Philadelphia as the offseason moves forward. Keep an eye on Bregman as a potential fit for the Phillies.
