If the Philadelphia Phillies actually pull off a signing for Bo Bichette, the next step should be to move Alec Bohm and not look back.

I’d trade Bohm in a heartbeat if Philadelphia lands Bichette.

There are a few different ways to look at a player of Bichette's caliber, but the reality is that he's one of the better-hitting infielders in baseball, and considering that Bohm has been in trade rumors over the past few years, it just makes a lot of sense.

That’s where the New York Yankees enter the conversation.

From Philadelphia’s perspective, this would be centered around a player who hasn't done enough for them over the past few seasons.

If the Phillies are serious about pushing their window to the next decade with Bichette, there's a lot of reason to believe that bone could get them a decent return, even if it's a few pitching prospects.

The Yankees, meanwhile, don't really need a third baseman, but there's also a side of the story that suggests they could use one if they want to move on from Ryan McMahon. Stephen Parello of FanSided linked the two sides.

“He could platoon with Ryan McMahon at third, plus he has experience at first, allowing him to get at-bats there when Ben Rice catches or needs to take a seat against a tough lefty. That presence would free up Amed Rosario to be more of a utility man, giving the Yankees a right-handed option at second, and possibly playing more in the outfield, where, yet again, a righty presence is needed,” he wrote.

Bohm’s value to the Phillies goes down the moment Bichette arrives.

That doesn't mean he's the worst player on the roster by any means, but unless they plan to move him to first base and put Bryce Harper back in the outfield, there really isn't much of a fit for him.

I don't think the Yankees would be interested in making a move for the All-Star third baseman, but we've also seen crazier things happen.

Ultimately, however, this could be a sign that the Phillies would move on from him if they were to sign Bichette.
