For the Phillies, they can clinch a postseason spot tonight. If Philadelphia were to take down the Brewers, combined with either a loss from the Arizona Diamondbacks or San Diego Padres, they would be in.
There are only four games left to go in the regular season for the Phillies, adding more of a sense of urgency to this group. But first things first, the team will need to take care of business against the Brewers.
Philadelphia will be sending right-hander Andrew Painter to the mound in this game. Painter has been an up-and-down season for far, but the Phillies desperately need him to show up today.
For the year, Painter has recorded a 5.59 ERA over 24 appearances (22 starts). In his last outing, Painter went 5.1 innings against the New York Mets, allowing four runs on four runs, while striking out seven batters.
Painter will need to bounce back from this outing to help the Phillies try to clinch a playoff spot today. If he can't, the road to the playoffs could be much tougher for this team following the Brewers series.

Star Bryce Harper will hit third, playing in right field and the Phillies need his bat to get going. Luis Arraez will bat fourth for Philadelphia, playing at second base in this game.
Alec Bohm takes on the duties at first base, and he will hit fifth today. Hitting sixth will be Bryan De La Cruz, who will play in left field.
Bryson Stott will be hitting in the seven spot today, playing at third base. Catcher J.T. Realmuto will hit eighth for the Phillies in this one.
And rounding out the lineup will be Justin Crawford, who will be playing in center field.
