The Philadelphia Phillies could have a perfect target this MLB offseason.

The Philadelphia Phillies absolutely need to add some bats this MLB offseason, but the pickings will be rather slim.

The Phillies don't exactly have a ton of money to spend, either. They have a bunch of lucrative long-term deals in their payroll, and based on how they operated last winter, it doesn't seem like they are eager to increase them.

But let's be honest: Philadelphia has to do something significant in the coming months, or else the fanbase will revolt.

So, who could the Phillies pursue in free agency?

Well, one clear option is outfielder Randy Arozarena.

Arozarena spent 2026 with the Seattle Mariners, slashing .281/.381/.484 with 26 home runs and 79 RBI over 670 plate appearances. He achieved career highs in OBP and OPS (.865), and he also stole 26 bases. Additionally, he was a 5.5 WAR player.

Yes, Arozarena is bad defensively. He always has been. But he definitely brings a good power bat to the table, and while his lifetime OPS is a much more modest .792, he would still comprise a massive upgrade over what Philadelphia already has in its outfield.

Plus, Arozarena is a known playoff hero.

Back in 2020 with the Tampa Bay Rays, he smashed 10 homers en route to leading the Rays to a World Series appearance. And in 45 career postseason games, he boasts a .292/.380/.565 slash line.

Given all of the Phillies' early playoff exits the last several years, bringing Arozarena aboard would definitely help.

The issue, of course, could be the cost.

Arozarena is expected to land a contract worth $100 million or more, and with the righty slugger turning 32 years old in February, Philadelphia may be a bit gun shy.

But again, the Phils need a major boost offensively, and outside of Seiya Suzuki, there really aren't many more options.

Arozarena has hit over 25 home runs each of the past two seasons and has hit 20-plus six years in a row. Was 2026 a career year for the Cuban native? Perhaps, but he has been a dependable power bat for most of his big-league tenure.

It's also worth noting that the veteran boasts a very solid lifetime 9.8 percent walk rate, and he was over double digits in that department three of the past four seasons.

I fully expect the Phillies to be in on Arozarena the second free agency opens. Whether or not they outbid other interested clubs is the real question.
