This Philadelphia Phillies Prospect Donned 'Future of the Organization' cover image

The answer to the Philadelphia Phillies' infield shake-up could already be in the organization.

One of the biggest questions still facing the Philadelphia Phillies heading into the 2026 season is whether they’ll head into Opening Day with the same starting infield. With this core failing to win a World Series after five seasons, it might just be time for a shakeup.

Alex Bregam was an interesting fit. The Phillies heavily pursued Bo Bichette before he signed with a division rival, but Philadelphia was unable to land either of them.

Perhaps the answer for the Phillies is already in the organization, and that’s highly touted prospect Aidan Miller.

Steve Phillies recently talked about Miller after he was named MLB’s No. 23 prospect, and gave him an elite title considering the star-stuffed lineup the Phillies already have.

"The Phillies and their fans felt like they got a gut punch when they lost out on Bo Bichette; Get over it. Listen, Aidan Miller is the future of this organization. He's playing shortstop right now, but he ultimately may move to second, he may move to third, but he can swing the bat,” proclaimed former MLB GM and analyst Steve Phillips.

“This young man has legit speed. Stole 59 bases last year, and some of the comparisons are Alex Bregman, but with speed. I mean, great plate discipline, pitch recognition. He's got pop in the bat.
He's got athleticism. He can play solid defense at shortstop, maybe third or second base.”

Miller certainly has been impressive ever since he was drafted. Over his three-year minor league career, the right-handed hitter has logged a .265/.383/.434 slash line, including 25 home runs and 58 doubles.

In 2025, Miller logged a .825 OPS and was finally promoted to Triple-A at the end of the season, which is where he’ll likely start the 2026 campaign.

Phillips has extremely high expectations for Miller, being a key piece of Philadelphia’s future, but he has a good reason for it.

The analyst shared, “When he got drafted, there was a veteran Philly scout that said that he's the best position player prospect that they've signed, they've drafted since Mike Schmidt. That's what they think about him.”

The only question now is: When will Miller make his MLB debut with the Phillies, and will it come in 2026?
