The Philadelphia Phillies still have a lot to figure out before Opening Day.

Opening Day is just over a week away, but the Philadelphia Phillies still have a lot to figure out in camp. Here are three questions the Phillies must answer before the start of the season.

What Will The Middle Of The Phillies Lineup Look Like?

In some way, shape, or form, the top three spots in the Phillies lineup will be Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and Kyle Schwarber, but there are question marks after that.

Who will be the one to hit clean up and give this trio some protection? Who will be Philadelphia’s four, five, and six hitters in the lineup?

Alec Bohm continued to get reps as Philadelphia’s lead-off hitter, Adolis Garcia has the power threat to give some protection in the middle of the order, and Bryson Stott’s impressive spring can’t be ignored either.

The Phillies have options, but how the pieces fit together still remains to be seen.

Will Garrett Stubbs Make The Opening Day Roster?

For as long as Garrett Stubbs has been with the Phillies, he’s been a catcher, but the team is exploring the idea of having him be more of a utility player in 2026.

Rob Thomson said earlier in March that the team planned to give Stubbs some infield and outfield work, and “There’s that says he couldn’t be on the 26-man roster.”

Stubbs does have some experience playing different positions at the Minor League level, but that was a while ago. Since Thomson’s comments, Stubbs has appeared in a Spring Training game at left field.

With Opening Day just over a week away, the Phillies don’t have a ton of time to figure out whether this is an experiment they want to continue into the regular season or put an end to before the year begins.

Will The Phillies Seek External Help For Outfield Depth?

The Phillies' outfield depth and production were one of the key storylines all offseason, not just coming into Spring Training. Now, that depth took an even bigger hit with Johan Rojas being suspended 80-games after being suspended 80 games for PEDs.

Rojas wasn’t guaranteed a spot on the Opening Day roster, but his presence was still a massive boost for the organization’s overall outfield options. Now, the team’s outfield candidates include Adolis Garcia, Brandon Marsh, Justin Crawford, Edmundo Sosa, and Otto Kemp.

Yes, that may seem like a decent amount of options, but if one or two players get hurt, Philadelphia's outfield depth could quickly look thin.
