Friday, September 25: RHP Bubba Chandler vs LHP Jackson Jobe
The Pirates will hand the ball to Chandler to open the series. The hard-throwing right-hander will try to help this team set the tone for the last series.
On the year, Chandler has a 4.34 ERA in 30 appearances (29 starts). The second-year pitcher has allowed at least three runs in three of his last four outings.
Jobe will go against Pittsburgh, putting his 3.98 ERA over eight starts on the line.
Saturday, September 26: TBD vs RHP Justin Verlander
The Pirates haven't announced who will be starting for them on Saturday. Due to some injuries in the pitching staff, Pittsburgh will be making a game-time decision.
As for the Tigers, they will send Verlander to the mound in what should be the final start of his legendary MLB career. The right-hander will receive a large standing ovation from the loyal fans at Comerica Park.
Sunday, September 27: RHP Jared Jones vs LHP River Ryan
Jones will start the final game of the regular season for the Pirates. The right-hander will be looking to finish off his strong season, building momentum for next year.
On the year, Jones has recorded a 3.87 ERA over 20 starts. The right-hander has been one of the more consistent presences for Pittsburgh, and he wants to go out with a bang.
Ryan will take the mound opposite of Jones, looking to get his career back on track. The right-hander was one of the central pieces that Detroit got in the Tarik Skubal trade.
