It all begins on Friday night with first pitch of game one of the Texas Rangers' series in Anaheim, Calif., against the Los Angeles Angels scheduled for 8:38 p.m. CST.
The Texas Rangers came into their current road trip with an opportunity to play the three worst teams in Major League Baseball in terms of winning percentage.
After dropping two of three against the rival Houston Astros and losing the first game of their series with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, it seemed that the Rangers might let the opportunity slip.
However, the Rangers battled back to take two of three from Colorado and will now open a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels with an opportunity to cap off a winning road trip and return to Arlington with a record above .500.
It all begins on Friday night with first pitch of game one of the series in Anaheim, Calif., scheduled for 8:38 p.m. CST.
Fans can catch all the action on CW33 in the DFW area as part of their Friday night baseball package that features select Friday night Rangers games throughout the season.
Those not in the D-FW area but still within the Rangers' broadcast zone can check their local listings to see where the game will air for them. Those not located in the Rangers' broadcast zone can catch the action on MLB TV as usual.
On the radio side, things will remain unchanged as 105.3 The Fan will have all the action in the D-FW area, and all other areas will also remain on their same usual station.
Jacob deGrom will take the mound for the Rangers as he looks to continue his strong start to the season.
deGrom enters play on Friday with a 3-3 record, a 3.02 ERA, and a 0.908 WHIP in 50 2/3 innings pitched.
In his last start against the Astros last Saturday, deGrom allowed four earned runs (all solo home runs) in six innings pitched.
Offensively, the Rangers will face hard-throwing right-hander Grayson Rodriguez, who will make just his second start of both the season and his Angels career.
Last Sunday, Rodriguez had a rough season debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he allowed seven earned runs in three 2/3 innings.
The Rangers will hope that some of their offensive success made its way on the plane to Southern California and that they can take advantage of Rodriguez's late start to the season.
A strong ending to the road trip will put the Rangers in a good spot heading back to Globe Life Field, and it all starts on Friday night.
