Now, the Texas Rangers will look to the momentum from their bounce-back win and turn it into a hot stretch, beginning with Wednesday night’s third game of the series against their biggest rivals.

After his team’s big 10-7 bounce-back win on Tuesday, Texas Rangers manager Skip Schumaker talked about how in baseball, you have to be able to flush yesterday’s results and focus on today.

Following Texas being no-hit by three Houston Astros pitchers in Monday night’s series opener, that message was an important one and one that the Rangers clearly took to heart as they exploded for an eight-run first inning less than 24 hours later.

Now, the Rangers will look to take the momentum from their bounce-back win and turn it into a hot stretch, beginning with Wednesday night’s third game of the series against their biggest rivals.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CST at Globe Life Field. The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive Schumaker’s first promotional giveaway as manager of the Rangers … a concert-themed tee shirt.

Those not heading out to Globe Life Field can catch all of the action on the Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan from the radio side of things.

Jacob deGrom will take the mound for the Rangers, making his 11th start of the season. Entering play, deGrom is 3-4 with a 3.86 ERA.

deGrom will look to bounce back from a rough outing in his last start, which saw him give up six earned runs in just three innings.

Just 11 days ago, deGrom started against the Astros in Houston, where he allowed four earned runs in six innings.

Offensively, the Rangers will take on another right-handed pitcher as Mike Burrows gets the ball for the Astros.

In 10 starts this season, Burrows is 2-6 with a 5.75 ERA. One week ago, in his last outing, Burrows allowed four earned runs in six innings.

The Rangers made it a priority to come out aggressively on Tuesday night against Astros starter Jason Alexander, which ultimately led to their big eight-run first. It’ll be worth watching to see if that is once again a strategy on Wednesday against Burrows, who they have not faced yet this season.

Expect Schumaker to roll out a similar lineup to the one that put up 10 runs on nine hits on Tuesday night. Both Corey Seager and Wyatt Langford still won’t be back in the lineup as they continue to progress their way back from injury.

With a win on Wednesday, the Rangers would guarantee themselves at least a split in this four-game series with Houston and give themselves a shot to win the series on Thursday.
