The Texas Rangers wound up 1-1 in the two games. Road squad lost to Cincinnati Reds 4-3; home squad routed San Diego Padres 22-2.

For the final time in 2026 Spring Training, the Texas Rangers completed a split-squad doubleheader.

Half of the Rangers' Spring Training roster traveled to Goodyear, Arizona, to take on the Cincinnati Reds, and the other half remained in Surprise, Arizona, to take on the San Diego Padres.

Texas wound up 1-1 in the two games, with the road squad falling to the Reds 4-3 and the home squad putting forth a historic thumping of the Padres 22-2.

Nathan Eovaldi started the game in Surprise and put forth a solid outing, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs with no walks and five strikeouts.

Jakob Junis pitched a clean frame with a strikeout as well, and Josh Sborz also got back on track, pitching a shutout inning with two strikeouts.

Ryan Braiser closed out the game in the ninth with a clean frame.

Offensively, it was a day to write home about for pretty much everyone who was in the Rangers' lineup.

Brandon Nimmo went 4-for-4 with a walk, four RBIs, and five runs scored. Wyatt Langford had another home run, scoring two runs and driving in two on three hits.

Corey Seager hit third and played shortstop, going 2-for-4 with two hits, a walk, and an RBI. Andrew McCutchen continued his red-hot spring, going 2-for-3 with a walk and also picking up an RBI.

Josh Smith got another start at third base and hit a grand slam in the game as part of a five-RBI afternoon.

Evan Carter played left field, and Willie Maclver picked up another two RBIs in yet another strong day behind the plate.

Ezequiel Duran had another day to write home about, picking up four RBI in another strong offensive performance.

Out on the road in Goodyear, it was a notable day for the Rangers' offense despite putting up just three runs.

Joc Pederson led off the game serving as the designated hitter, and drew two walks. Alejandro Osuna made his return from the World Baseball Classic and picked up three hits in four at-bats.

Jake Burger also played in the road game, picking up a walk, an RBI, and a strikeout in three plate appearances.

The Rangers will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they will travel to Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, to take on the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers at 4:05 ET.
