The Texas Rangers will look to win their series against the Chicago White Sox in a Wednesday night showdown at the Globe.

On Tuesday night, the Texas Rangers had just about the best bounce-back game one could script up.

Now, Texas will have a chance to follow it up with a series victory in Wednesday’s rubber match showdown against the Chicago White Sox at Globe Life Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with parking lots slated to open at 4 p.m. followed by gates at 5 p.m. Wednesday will be another $1 Hot Dog Night at the ballpark.

Tyler Alexander will get the start for the Rangers as an opener for the fourth time this season. Skip Schumaker and his staff are looking to counter the left-handed hitters that Chicago features at the top of their lineup.

In his first season with Texas, Alexander is 1-1 with a 2.79 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 42 innings. Alexander has been able to step up for the Rangers in various roles this season.

Once Alexander’s short start is over, the Rangers will turn to Cal Quantrill, who has been pitching the bulk of the innings in the absence of the injured Jack Leiter.

Quantrill has also stepped up big for the Rangers' pitching staff, posting a 3-2 record, a 3.93 ERA, a 1.291 WHIP, and 31 strikeouts in 50.1 innings.

Although this season has been much of a success for Qunatrill, his last outing against the Atlanta Braves did not go to plan as he allowed six earned runs on 11 hits in just four innings in an eventual 15-1 Rangers loss.

However, Quantrill has fared well at home this season, and Texas will look for him to deliver once again.

On the other side, Rangers hitters will see a left-handed starter for the second straight night as the White Sox will send Anthony Kay to the mound.

Kay enters the contest with a 6-4 record, a 4.24 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and 76 strikeouts in 93.1 innings this season.

Texas’ left-handed batters went 9-for-11 against Chicago left-handed pitching on Tuesday night, so they will no doubt have some momentum heading in. Brandon Nimmo was one of the standout performers, becoming the first Rangers lefty since Josh Hamilton in 2009 to have four hits against left-handed pitchers in a single game.

With a win on Wednesday, Texas would claim a series victory against the White Sox, jump back to two games above .500 at 52-50 and secure first place in the American League West heading into the weekend.
