Coming into the Texas Rangers' four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays, the length of the series alone represented a big opportunity for the Rangers.

Through two games, Texas has taken full advantage of that opportunity, grabbing the first two contests and giving them at least a series split.

On Saturday afternoon, they will go for the series victory in game three against the Jays at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:07 p.m. CT. Fans can catch all the action on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side of things.

After getting seven shutout innings from Nathan Eovaldi on Friday night, the Rangers will turn to Cal Quantrill to make his second start of the season in place of the injured Jack Leiter.

Last week, the Rangers placed Leiter on the 15-day Injured List with a right ankle posterior impingement.

Quantrill filled in for Leiter just two days later, making a start against the Miami Marlins, where he went two innings and allowed just one earned run.

Coming into play on Saturday, Quantrill is 3-0 with a 3.73 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 31.1 innings pitched this season.

In Spring Training, Quantrill was originally fighting for the fifth spot in the starting rotation, but has been an important piece in the Rangers' bullpen throughout the season.

On the other side, Rangers hitters will be tasked with facing the Blue Jays prized pickup of the offseason, Dylan Cease.

Cease has had a solid debut season in Toronto, going 4-3 with a 2.75 ERA and 118 strikeouts in just 78.2 innings this season.

In his last start against the Houston Astros, Cease went 5.2 innings and allowed just three hits and two runs.

Rangers right fielder Brandon Nimmo will be someone to watch early in this one as he is hitting .444 in nine career at-bats against Cease.

As is always the key when facing a good strikeout pitcher, the Rangers will look to make Cease work and find a way to get to a Blue Jays bullpen that has thrown a lot over the first two games.

Coming into play on Saturday at 40-42, the Rangers sit just 1.5 games back of first place in the American League West. After Friday night’s win, the Rangers also remain tied for the AL’s final Wild Card spot.
