The Texas Rangers are back in action at Globe Life Field on Wednesday as they go for the series sweep against the Athletics.

This homestand is just about as big as it gets for the Texas Rangers, and they’ve started it in ideal fashion.

After taking the first two games, the Rangers will go for a series sweep of the Athletics on Wednesday afternoon at Globe Life Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m., with parking lots opening at 11:30 a.m., followed by ballpark gates at noon.

Comedian and DFW Native Ralph Barbosa, as well as Host of "Billy the Kidd in the Morning" on The New Mix 102.9, Billy the Kidd, will be on hand to throw out the first pitches of the game.

Wednesday afternoon will also mark another $1 hot dog day at the ballpark.

Once the action on the field gets underway, Cody Bradford will toe the rubber to make his sixth start of the season. Bradford comes into play with a 0-3 record, a 3.42 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 26.1 innings.

In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers, Bradford was solid, going 5.2 innings and allowing just three runs.

On Aug. 16, Bradford squared off against the A’s in Sacramento, allowing two earned runs in four innings.

If Bradford can find a way to earn the win on Wednesday, it will mark his first since September 18 of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, Rangers hitters will face yet another left-handed starter as Jacob Lopez takes the mound for the A’s.

Lopez comes into play with a 5-4 record, a 4.82 ERA, a 1,46 WHIP, and 96 strikeouts in 99 innings this season.

This will mark the fourth time already this season that Texas has squared off against Lopez. On April 16, he allowed two earned runs in five innings, 10 days later on April 26, he allowed one run in just one inning of work, and recently on Aug. 16, the Rangers got to him for two earned runs in six innings.

Texas first baseman Jake Burger will be one to watch in this one as he is a lifetime .500 hitter with one home run and four RBI in six career at-bats against Lopez.

Coming into play, the Rangers sit just one game back of first place in the American League West. Texas is 1.5 games back of the final Wild Card spot.

With a win on Wednesday, the Rangers would pull back to .500 once again with a record of exactly 70-70 through 140 games.
