First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CST at Globe Life Field between Texas Rangers, Houston Astros. Those not heading to the ballpark can catch all the action on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side of things.
The Texas Rangers will have an opportunity to salvage a split in the fourth and final game of their four-game set against their in-state rival Houston Astros.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CST at Globe Life Field. Those not heading to the ballpark can catch all the action on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side of things.
Those making the trip to Arlington are encouraged to arrive early and head to the Comerica Backyard, which is located right inside the Comerica Northeast Entrance for trivia night beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Trivia is free to play and includes a mix of Rangers, baseball, and general pop culture questions, so everyone has a shot at winning prizes like signed baseballs, jerseys, tickets, and promo items.
When the action gets underway on the field, the Rangers will send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound to make his 11th start of the season. Entering play on Thursday, Eovaldi is 5-5 with a 3.65 ERA.
In his last start against the Astros back on May 17th, Eovaldi fired seven shutout innings in a Rangers win. In his last three starts combined, Eovaldi has combined to throw an astonishing 22 innings.
Eovaldi and the rest of the Rangers pitching staff will have the tall task of handling Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez, who has hit four home runs in the last two games.
Offensively, the Rangers will have their work cut out for them as they face Astros righty Spencer Arrighetti, who enters play with a 6-1 record and a 1.32 ERA on the season.
The Rangers will certainly remember Arrighetti who took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against Texas back on May 15th.
Once again, the middle innings will be highlighted for the Rangers' offense as they have often struggled to produce runs in those frames.
Both Corey Seager and Wyatt Langford will be out of the lineup once again as they both continue to progress their way back from injury.
Langford took batting pracitce at Globe Life Field prior to Wednesday night’s game. Seager has also been working out at the ballpark as he has played catch and ran the bases in recent days.
The Rangers will no doubt hope to get those two guys back sooner rather than later but in the meantime will have to make due with the offensive weapons they have.
