First pitch is scheduled for 6:15 p.m., and the eyes of the nation will be upon the Rangers tonight as the game will be broadcast nationally on FOX. 105.3 The Fan will still have things covered on the radio side.
Cal Quantrill will get the start for Texas and he's in the midst of an incredible run. In his last three starts since rejoining the ballclub, the Canadian right-hander has allowed just one earned run. He comes into play having thrown 13 scoreless innings in a row.
On the year, Quantrill is 6-4 with a 2.90 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts in 83.2 innings. Saturday will mark his 28th appearance of the season but just his 11th start.
Facing the Brewers lineup will certainly be no easy task for Quantrill, as they are amongst the best in baseball at putting the ball in play and making life tough on opposing pitchers.
Several Milwaukee hitters have faced Quantrill many times throughout their careers. Five Brewers have faced the Rangers right-hander more than five times in the big leagues, and three of them are hitting above .400 against him.
On the other side of the ball, Texas hitters will look to bounce back against Milwaukee left-hander Shane Drohan.
Drohan will make his 27th appearance (16th start) of the season and comes in 6-5 with a 3.84 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, and 104 strikeouts over 105.1 innings. No Rangers hitter has ever faced Drohan, as 2026 marks his rookie season.
Perhaps facing a left-hander will prove a welcome change for the Rangers after they sent just one batter over the minimum to the plate against Logan Henderson on Friday.
Dating back to their last home stand, Texas was able to have some success in games against left-handed starters despite struggles at times throughout the season.
Coming into play, the Rangers sit just two games back of first place in the American League West despite their 66-69 record. They are also just two games back of the final Wild Card position.
With a win on Saturday, Texas would set up a chance to go for a series win on Sunday behind Kumar Rocker, who takes the mound in the final game of the road trip.
