After struggling offensively for much of the early goings of the 2026 season, the Texas Rangers hit rock bottom on Monday night.

Texas was no-hit by three Houston Astros pitchers in a 9-0 defeat to open their week-long homestand.

On Tuesday night, the Rangers will have an opportunity to bounce back in game two of their series with the Astros.

Despite Houston being off to a slow start this season, the Rangers haven’t been able to take advantage, losing three of the four games against their in-state rival.

The Rangers figure that both their season and their success against Houston will turn around eventually, and they hope that night will be on Tuesday.

Jack Leiter takes the mound for the Rangers, entering play with a 1-4 record and a 4.61 ERA on the season.

Leiter pitched seven innings of one-run baseball against the Astros just over a week ago. The Rangers will hope that success carries over to Globe Life Field on Tuesday.

Of course, the Rangers' offense will be under the microscope after the no-hitter on Monday night.

Texas will face left-handed pitcher Jason Aleaxander, who enters play 1-0 with a 7.30 ERA on the season.

The Rangers have struggled to hit left-handed pitching at times this season, but they will need to begin to reverse that trend.

Key hitters such as Corey Seager, Wyatt Langford, and Josh Jung remain out with injuries, but none of their returns are super imminent, so Texas will once again have to make do with the hitters they have available.

This recent stretch of games against teams with low winning percentages has not gone the way the Rangers have wanted it to.

It was easy to see this stretch as an opportunity for the Rangers to catapult themselves into a good position before the summer months.

Although the Rangers certainly still have that opportunity, they will need to start taking advantage of it sooner rather than later.

Texas will also need to improve its play at Globe Life Field as they sit it just 11-11 in Arlington this season.

Once again, it’s been the pitching that has kept the Rangers afloat up to this point in the season, but the bats will certainly need to come around soon.

Unlike last season, Texas has generated some scoring chances, but ultimately has just not been able to cash in on the majority of them.
