Less than 24 hours later, the Texas Rangers take on the Athletics in the second of a three-game series at Globe Life Field.

There’s no doubt that Friday night’s series opener between the Texas Rangers and the Athletics had an exciting feel to it.

The Rangers wore their “Tejas” City Connect uniforms on the field for the first time ever. There were plenty of new City Connect-themed decorations around Globe Life Field and on top of that, it was Nathan Eovaldi Bobblehead Night on his start day.

However, for Rangers fans, that excitement didn’t last too far into the game as Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz took Eovaldi deep on the first pitch of the game. Just one batter later, the A’s went back-to-back, putting the Rangers in an instant 3-0 hole.

Unfortunately for the Rangers, things never got better as they fell 8-1 to drop their record back to .500 at 13-13.

Less than 24 hours later, the Rangers will have a chance to bounce back as they will take on the A’s in the second game of a three-game series at Globe Life Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT, coming one hour earlier than the usual 7:05 p.m. start with it being a Saturday night game.

The first 10,000 fans inside Globe Life Field will receive a Rangers Hello Kitty jersey as part of the team’s Hello Kitty Night promotion.

Fans not making the trip out of hte ballpark can catch the game on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side of things.

MacKenzie Gore will take the mound for Texas to make his sixth start of the season and his Rangers career.

In his last outing, Gore went five innings allowing five earned runs against the Seattle Mariners last Sunday.

Gore faced these same Athletics back on April 14th in West Sacramento, Calif., going 4 2/3 innings and allowing two runs.

The Rangers will no doubt look for Gore to give them some length and put forth a bounce back start to help them get back into the win column on Saturday.

Offensively, the Rangers will have to crack A’s lefty Jeffery Springs, who carved Texas up in West Sacramento earlier this month. Gore went 6 1/3 innings, allowing just three hits and one run. However, Springs allowed nine hits seven earned runs in his last start.

Texas will no doubt hope they can get that version of Springs as opposed to the version they saw in West Sacramento. More importantly, they hope that they can bounce back from a tough offensive night on Friday and get back into the win column.
