After Monday's off-day, the Texas Rangers are back in action at Globe Life Field as they take on the New York Mets on Tuesday night.
For the final time this season, the Texas Rangers will open a series at Globe Life Field. Following Monday’s off-day, the Rangers will welcome the New York Mets to town for a three-game series beginning on Tuesday night.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with parking lots slated to open at 4:30 p.m., followed by ballpark gates at 5 p.m.
Those not heading out to the Globe can catch all the action on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side of things.
Once the action on the field gets underway, MacKenzie Gore will take the mound for Texas to make his final home start of the season.
Gore comes into play with an 8-11 record, a 4.67 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 172 strikeouts in 165.2 innings across 32 starts.
There was some question as to whether or not Gore would make this start after he left his last outing with muscle spasms, but after all his throwing was clean through the week, he will be good to go.
We will almost certainly see Gore again this weekend in what could be one of the deciding games of the Rangers season.
As for Tuesday on the other side of the ball, the Rangers will face left-hander Sean Manaea, who will make his 18th start of the year for the Mets.
In 138.2 innings this season, Manaea has posted a 5-7 record with a 4.74 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and 132 strikeouts.
In his career, Manaea has posted a 7-4 record with a 4.22 ERA in 16 appearances against Texas. This will, of course, be the first time they have squared off this season.
The Rangers will no doubt be excited to see another left-hander as they continue to hit very well against southpaws down the stretch.
Tuesday night is also significant because former Texas second baseman Marcus Semien will make his return to Arlington after spending the last four seasons with the Rangers.
Semien was a key piece of the 2023 World Series-winning team and earned multiple All-Star appearances, a Gold Glove, and Silver Slugger throughout his time in Texas.
As for the 2026 Rangers, they enter play on Tuesday with a one-game lead in the American League West despite having a record of just 78-78. With a win tonight, Texas would be back above .500.
