The Texas Rangers are back in action at Globe Life Field on Monday night as they open a three-game set with the Athletics at 7:05.
Following a six-game road trip, the Texas Rangers return to Globe Life Field to kick off a huge weeklong home stand as they continue to push for a postseason spot.
On Monday night, the Rangers will begin a three-game set against the division rival Athletics, whom they will play for the final time this season.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with parking lots opening at 4:30 p.m. and gates at 5 p.m.
The first 10,000 fans inside the ballpark will receive free Rangers Shoe Charms presented by State Farm.
Monday night will also mark FC Dallas night at the Globe. FCD defender and Fort Worth native Nolan Norris will be on hand to throw out the first pitch.
Fans who purchase a theme night ticket to Monday night's game through the Rangers' official website will receive a co-branded FC Dallas-Texas Rangers sleeveless hoodie. Theme night items will be available for pickup at the Northwest Entrance.
Anyone not planning on heading out to catch the game in person can tune into all the action on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side.
Once the action on the field gets underway, Jacob deGrom will take the mound for the Rangers to make his 26th start of the season. Surprisingly, this will be deGrom’s first start against the Athletics this season.
Coming into play, deGrom is 9-9 with a 4.21 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 159 strikeouts in 130.1 innings.
In his last start against the Chicago White Sox, deGrom struggled, going just 3.2 innings and allowing eight earned runs on six hits.
Despite being in the same division, the Athletics have just one hitter who has faced deGrom more than five times. Lawrence Butler has done battle with deGrom 10 times, amassing just a .200 batting average.
On the other side of the ball, Texas hitters will be tasked with facing young left-hander Gage Jump, who will make his 18th start of the season.
In his first taste of big-league action this season, Jump is 6-8 with a 4.29 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP and 97 strikeouts in 88.1 innings.
Back on Aug. 14, the Rangers squared off against Jump in Sacramento and managed to plate three runs against him in 5.1 innings.
Coming into play today, the Rangers' 67-70 record has them sitting just two games back of first place in the American League West and also two games back of the AL’s final Wild Card spot.
