The Texas Rangers are back at Globe Life Field to open a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox at 7:05 p.m. CT.

After a very brief three-game road trip, the Texas Rangers are returning to Globe Life Field to kick off their first homestand of the second half.

Texas will welcome the Chicago White Sox on Monday night to kick off a three-game series.

First pitch for Monday night’s series opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT. with parking lots at the ballpark slated to open at 4 p.m. followed by gates at 5 p.m.

Those not planning on heading out to the Globe can catch all the action on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side of things.

Each of the Rangers and White Sox matchups in this series will certinally be interesting as Chicago has been the biggest surprise team in baseball this season.

After losing a combined 223 games the last two seasons, the White Sox enter the series against Texas with a 52-46 record this season.

It will be two first-place teams going at it on Monday night as Chicago sits on top of the American League Central while the Rangers' 50-49 record has them leading the AL West.

Texas will no doubt feel they have a good shot to win the series opener based alone on the fact that they will have Jacob deGrom taking the mound.

DeGrom will make his first start since July 7 after missing his final start before the All-Star break and having this one pushed back due to a mild glute strain.

Coming into play on Monday, deGrom is 7-5 with a 3.49 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP, and 122 strikeouts in 100.2 innings this season.

Much like last year, deGrom has given the Rangers a solid level of consistency this season. It hasn’t been a lights-out year for the Texas ace, and there have certainly been some struggles, but there’s no doubt deGrom gives you just as much of a shot to win as any pitcher in baseball.

On the other side, the Rangers will be tasked with facing White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde, who will make his 20th appearance of the season but just his 10th start.

Fedde comes into play at 5-6 with a 4.15 ERA, a 1.42 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts in 89 innings pitched.

With a win, the Rangers would jump back to two games above .500 at 51-49 and could see their division lead back at 1.5 games.
