The Texas Rangers' Fourth of July weekend didn’t go exactly the way they wanted it to as they dropped two of three to the Detroit Tigers in a three-game set at Globe Life Field.

With the series loss, the Rangers fell back to .500 at 45-45 and dropped into second place in the American League West.

As the page turns to the final week before the All-Star break, Texas will have an opportunity to rebound with a pair of divisional opponents heading into Arlington.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the Rangers will welcome the Los Angeles Angels to town. First pitch for each game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m

Los Angeles currently sits in last place in the AL West with a 36-55 record. Back in May, the Rangers were swept by the Angels at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.

It’s hard to ask for a much better bunch of starting pitchers than the Rangers will be rolling out this series.

Jacob deGrom will take the mound on Tuesday, followed by MacKenzie Gore and Nathan Eovaldi to close out the series.

Thursday night’s game marks the only giveaway of the series, with the first 10,000 fans receiving a Wyatt Langford sliding catch bobblehead.

Despite there not being a giveaway, the first two games of the series will each have fan opportunities for fans heading out to the ballpark. Family Fun Tuesday and Dollar Hot Dog Wednesday will take place at the Globe.

Following the Angels series, the weekend will bring an always highly anticipated Silver Boot Series showdown with the Houston Astros. Friday’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. followed by 6:05 p.m. and 1:35 p.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday.

Texas has some ground to make up if they want to claim the boot for the first time since 2016 as they currently trail the season series 2-5.

On Friday night, the first 10,000 fans inside the ballpark will receive a Rangers Hawaiian Shirt. That will be the lone giveaway for the series. However, Sunday does mark a Blue Bell Ice Cream Sunday, where kids 13 and under receive $1 ice cream.

After Sunday’s game, the Rangers will officially be on their All-Star break. Jacob Latz is the Rangers' lone participant in the mid-summer classic, which takes place in Philadelphia next Tuesday.

If any other Rangers are named to the roster as injury replacements, those announcements should come at some point this week. Josh Jung and Ezequiel Duran seem like the main candidates for Texas representatives.
