The Texas Rangers will embark on a three-city, nine-game road trip beginning on Friday night in the Space City against rival Houston Astros.
Following a very successful 4-2 homestand, the Texas Rangers are heading back out on the road.
Texas will embark on a three-city, nine-game road trip beginning on Friday night in the Space City with the first Silver Boot series of 2026 against the rival Houston Astros.
After their three-game series against Houston, Texas will fly to the Mile High City for a series tilt against the Colorado Rockies and finally to the City of Angels for an interdivision series showdown with the Los Angeles Angels.
Each of the Rangers' opponents on this road trip features a record far below .500, so the swing will represent an opportunity for Texas to use its recently gained momentum to get on a hot run.
Any success that the Rangers have on this trip will begin with their starting pitching. In the last three games, excluding Monday’s bullpen game, Rangers starters have allowed just one run in 20 innings.
Speaking of starting pitching, it seems that the Rangers will get Nathan Eovaldi back at some point on this trip. Eovaldi said that he wants to start on Sunday in Houston, which would be his next turn in the rotation.
The series in Houston marks an opportunity to get off to the right start in the Silver Boot series as Texas looks to win the boot for the first time since 2016.
Houston is off to a tough start to the season with its pitching struggling mightily out of the gates in 2026.
The Rangers' offense will no doubt have an opportunity to continue its momentum from the final two games of the homestand.
One person they hope will continue his hot run is first baseman Jake Burger. In Wednesday’s win, Burger had a career-high-tying four RBIs, including a three-run home run, and on Monday he had three hits and a walk.
One person they hope will get going is shortstop Corey Seager, who will enter play on Friday in the midst of the longest stretch in his career without a hit.
Following their series in Houston, the Rangers will have another big offensive opportunity at Coors Field in Colorado and then again when they take on the Angels.
Overall, Texas will see one of its more favorable road trips of the season and, coming off a big win on Wednesday, they certainly have momentum.
By the time the Rangers return to Globe Life Field, they could very well be on a very hot stretch of baseball.
