For the final time this season, the Texas Rangers are slated to do battle with a fellow American League West opponent.

Texas will hit the road to open up a three-game series against the rival Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday night.

It’ll be a late one for those back home in the Metroplex, as first pitch isn’t scheduled until 8:40 p.m. CST.

At the time of this writing, starting pitchers from both teams are listed as TBD for all three games of the series.

We can, however, assume that since MacKenzie Gore started on Sunday, we will not see him at all during this series against the Mariners.

There certainly is a high probability that we will see both Cody Bradford and Cal Quantrill take the mound at some point in this series.

Bradford comes into play this series with a 0-4 record, a 4.45 ERA, a 1.58 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts in 30.1 innings on the season.

Should Bradford appear in this series, it will mark the first time he has faced Seattle this season. In his career, the left-hander has made just one appearance against the Mariners, allowing one run in 1.2 innings.

As for Quantrill, he has been one of the biggest surprises for the Rangers this season, as he has posted a 7-5 record with a 2.79 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP, and 73 strikeouts in 96.2 innings.

In his last eight starts, Quantrill has posted a 1.59 ERA with 42 strikeouts, as opposed to just 28 hits and 10 walks allowed.

Quantrill has only faced the Mariners once this season, allowing three earned runs in three innings way back on April 18.

Coming into the final matchup of the year between the two teams, Texas has no doubt gotten the better of their rivals this season as they hold a 7-3 season series lead.

In early April at Globe Life Field, the Rangers swept the Mariners, followed by dropping two of three just a few weeks later, and then in late July, Texas took three of four from Seattle back in Arlington.

Coming into play on Tuesday, the Rangers sit just two games back of first place in the American League West and 1.5 games out of the AL’s final Wild Card spot.two games back
