The Texas Rangers may not have very much Cactus League baseball left in 2026, but they sure are making the most of it.
On Friday night, the Rangers welcomed the San Francisco Giants to Surprise Staduim for their final home game of the 2026 Cactus League season.
Texas got the better of the Giants, claiming a 6-5 victory to improve its Spring Training record to 16-11.
On the mound, it was Rangers Opening Day starter Nathan Eovaldi, who looked like he was in mid-season form.
Eovaldi went four shutout innings, allowing just four hits with a walk. He didn't record any strikeouts in his final start of the Spring.
Luis Curvelo followed Eovaldi, pitching two innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and punching out a pair of Giants.
Josh Sborz suffered a rare Spring Training blemish as he allowed three runs in an inning's worth of work.
Carter Baumler continued his very strong Spring Training, earning the win in the game, pitching a scoreless inning with a pair of strikeouts.
Offensively, the Rangers scored all six of their runs in the eighth inning, with the big swing coming via a Jake Burger grand slam.
Josh Smith gave Texas the lead in the same inning with a two-run single, which ended up as the game-winner.
It was a lineup filled with regulars for the Rangers, beginning with Brandon Nimmo, who led off the game and played right field, drawing a walk.
Wyatt Langford continued his hot Spring Training, picking up another base hit rasing his batting average to .444.
Corey Seager played shortstop and picked up a base hit as well. Burger, of course, had the big swing of the night with the grand slam, playing first base and batting fourth.
Joc Pederson served as the designated hitter, playing against one of his former teams. Alejandro Osuna got a pinch hit at-bat in the DH spot and picked up a base hit. Josh Jung played third base as he continued his ramp-up following his Spring Training injury.
Josh Smith got the start at second base, picking up a pair of base hits, including the eventual game-winner.
Evan Carter got the start in left field, striking out twice. Kyle Higashioka picked up a base hit while starting behind the plate.
The Rangers will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in their final Cactus League game of 2026.
