After reaching base three times and scoring twice, Texas Rangers outfielder Brandon Nimmo exited early due to hamstring tightness.

The Texas Rangers secured a narrow 5-4 victory Friday night, but the win came with a layer of concern as outfielder Brandon Nimmo was forced to exit early due to right hamstring tightness.

Nimmo had been instrumental in setting the tone offensively, reaching base three times across the first four innings. He collected a pair of singles and drew a walk, crossing the plate twice as the Rangers built early momentum.

However, shortly after recording his second hit, Nimmo was removed from the game as discomfort in his hamstring resurfaced.

The issue was not entirely new. Nimmo had experienced similar tightness just days earlier, exiting Texas’ previous game in Arlington, Texas. Despite that, he returned to the starting lineup without missing time, a decision that now appears more precarious given the recurrence.

Following his departure, the Rangers were forced to shuffle defensively. Ezequiel Duran shifted into right field and made an immediate impact, delivering a highlight-reel diving catch near the warning track in the seventh inning to preserve the lead.

Meanwhile, Josh Smith entered as a pinch-runner before taking over at second base.

Nimmo’s performance this season has been a bright spot for Texas. Acquired during the offseason, he has provided consistency at the top of the lineup, entering the game hitting .290 with an .824 OPS over 31 contests.

His ability to get on base and create scoring opportunities has been especially valuable for a lineup still searching for rhythm.

That context makes his potential absence all the more significant. The Rangers are already navigating injuries, most notably to Wyatt Langford, who has been sidelined since April 22 with a Grade 1 right flexor strain. Losing Nimmo, even temporarily, would further strain an offense that has struggled to produce consistently.

While the severity of Nimmo’s latest setback remains unclear, his history with hamstring injuries earlier in his career adds a layer of caution. For now, the Rangers will likely monitor his condition closely in the coming days, balancing the need for his bat in the lineup with the risk of aggravating the injury further.
