Sitting just two games back in the AL West, the Texas Rangers enter a high-stakes stretch featuring a West Coast trip and a season-defining homestand.
The Texas Rangers were one of the few teams with Labor Day off, so they still have 18 regular-season games remaining in the 2026 season.
Of the six series left on their calendar, three of them will be at home, setting up a huge nine-game homestand at Globe Life Field from Sept. 15-20.
The Rangers will play six straight on the road from Sept. 8-13, and it's a West Coast trip that will see the return of Robert Garcia.
After taking on the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks, they'll enjoy September 14 off, and then play six straight before their final off day of the year between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets' series on Sept. 21.
Currently 71-73, the Rangers are one and a half games out of the American League Wild Card.
That said, they're only two games back of the Houston Astros in the AL West, so winning the division feels like a much easier route to take, though they're going to have to earn it.
Rangers will be tested on the road
The 67-77 Mariners aren't exactly playoff threats as they're 5.5 games back, but they're coming off a win which snapped a three-game skid.
Seattle has won three of their last six, but most importantly, dropped eight of their last 11. If there was ever a series for the Rangers to win, it's this one.
Then, they'll head to Arizona to take on a Diamondbacks team that is 41-31 at home this season. The D-backs are starting to get hot, so hopefully the Rangers built up enough momentum in Seattle to make them prepared for the challenge.
Nine-game homestand will make-or-break their season
The Boston Red Sox come to Globe Life Field from Sept. 15-17, but that's a Red Sox team that is seven games up in the Wild Card race and is 44-31 on the road.
Seeing as the Blue Jays are 72-73 overall and the Mets are only 66-78, those are two extremely winnable series coming off what could be a rude awakening against the Red Sox, or the ultimate confidence booster.
Rangers can't let the Minnesota Twins beat them
With four teams all within five games of that last Wild Card spot, manager Skip Schumaker knows is going to be a true race to the finish.
The 68-76 Minnesota Twins are in the mix, currently four and a half games back, and the Rangers play their final three games of the year at Target Field in a slate that could see them sneak into the playoffs or end their season in heartbreaking fashion.
