After a promising rookie campaign, Leiter appears poised to build on a strong foundation and emerge as an even more reliable force in the Rangers’ rotation.
Leiter, the Rangers’ first-round selection in 2021, delivered a productive first full season in the Major Leagues in 2025. He logged 151.2 innings and finished with a 3.86 ERA, a solid showing for a rookie pitching on a club with championship aspirations. More importantly, Leiter held his own within what became one of the most effective starting rotations in franchise history, demonstrating the durability and competitiveness needed to succeed at the highest level.
While his debut season was encouraging, it also highlighted areas for growth. Leiter’s stuff was rarely in question; his fastball and breaking pitches consistently missed bats, but command and efficiency occasionally limited his ability to work deeper into games.
