Jacob deGrom underwent an MRI on his right knee on Tuesday, and the results came back clean, showing no structural issues.

The Texas Rangers and their fans all let out one giant sigh of relief on Tuesday as the MRI results of their star pitcher delivered good news.

Jacob deGrom underwent an MRI on his right knee on Tuesday, and the results came back clean, showing no structural issues.

Prior to his start on Monday, deGrom felt something in his right knee while warming up in the bullpen.

deGrom came into the dugout and informed the Rangers of the issues, but told him that it was OK for him to go through with his start.

In true deGrom fashion, the Rangers ace threw five innings on one run ball in a 2-1 Texas victory over the Seattle Mariners.

deGrom’s lone blemish of the night came on a 12-pitch battle, which led to a solo home run off the bat of Mariners slugger Cal Raleigh in the first inning.

After that, deGrom was able to throw four scoreless innings and fuel a big series-opening win for the Rangers.

Moving forward, the Rangers do expect that deGrom will be in line to make his next start in the rotation.

There’s no doubt that the Rangers are simply a better team when deGrom is taking the ball every fifth day.

deGrom very well could find himself back in the Cy Young conversations with a healthy season in 2026.

The Rangers' rotation as a whole is set to be the strength of the team with deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi at the top, followed by strong young arms MacKenzie Gore, Jack Leiter, and Kumar Rocker.

Following their four-game losing streak, the Rangers have won a pair of games in their first two American League West Division contests of the season,

An improved offense has led the Rangers' strong start as Texas has been putting more balls in play and striking out less, in turn leading to more runs scored.

The Texas bullpen is starting to form, as we have seen Jakob Junis earn back-to-back saves as he looks to be emerging himself as the top leverage arm from first-year manager Skip Schumaker.

As for deGrom, the Rangers will continue to be cautious and monitor his health as the season moves forward, given his age and injury history.

We saw that last season, Texas produced a plan for him that allowed him to make 30 starts, and the Rangers will hope that he can do the same this season.

deGrom said his goal this year is to pitch 200 innings, and there is no doubt the Rangers will be in a good position if that winds up coming to fruition.
