The Tampa Bay Rays farm system continues to surge as top prospects Theo Gillen and Nathan Flewelling dominate at High-A Bowling Green. With multiple elite young players rising quickly through the organization, the Rays’ future looks just as dangerous as their current AL-leading roster.

The Rays had a good week both in the Majors and the Minor Leagues.

As the team continues to develop strong talent and resurrect careers, the Rays' farm system is trending in the right direction. Here is your weekly update from some of Tampa Bay’s top prospects.

Theo Gillen Stellar Season Continues

The Rays' top prospect is about to cause an issue with roster moves soon, because High-A Bowling Green is not going to be able to keep him. After hitting a 3-run homer in Tuesday’s game, he sits near the top of all of High-A with a 1.099 OPS.

Baseball America recently listed him as the 5th hottest MLB prospect right now, the way he’s hitting the ball.

Nathan Flewelling continues to rise.

After being recently added to MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list, catcher Nathan Flewelling keeps reminding everyone why he belongs. On Thursday night, in the first game of a doubleheader for High-A Bowling Green, Flewelling hit a walk-off homer and another in game two, putting him at 10 for the season. So far this year with the Hot Rods, the 19-year-old has a .944 OPS.

Bowling Green is the Place to Be

If you are looking for a ton of great prospects all in one spot, High-A Bowling Green is clearly your spot. As you can tell from the two prospects above, it is loaded with young talent poised to make the majors over the next few seasons and has no plans of stopping anytime soon.

It was announced on Wednesday that Rays 12th overall prospect Caden Bodine has been promoted up to the Hot Rods from Class-A Charleston. He is fresh off the Carolina League Player of the Month and will look to show off his skills at the next level, closer to the big leagues.

Bowling Green will host the Asheville Tourists this weekend at Bowling Green Park.
