Jonathan Aranda is quietly becoming one of the Tampa Bay Rays' most important hitters entering the MLB playoffs. After his clutch three-run homer against the Texas Rangers, Aranda continues to prove why Tampa Bay's offense is far more dangerous with him in the lineup.

Jonathan Aranda might be the most overlooked star on the Tampa Bay Rays.

And with everything going on around him, it's not hard to understand why.

Junior Caminero is having an MVP-level season. Yandy Díaz continues to be Yandy Díaz. Both players get plenty of attention when we talk about this offense, and players like Chandler Simpson’s late-season surge are turning heads.

But Aranda continues to make a huge impact.

We saw that again during the four-game series against the Texas Rangers.

His biggest moment came Saturday night.

The Rays had already blown a two-run lead in the eighth inning and found themselves in extra innings in a ballpark where they haven't had much success over the last few years.

Then Tampa Bay needed a hit, and Aranda delivered.

The left-handed hitter launched a three-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to give the Rays a 6-3 lead and help them pick up another huge victory in Arlington.

It was another example of what Aranda has quietly become for this lineup and was arguably snubbed from this season’s MLB All-Star Game.

He may not receive the same attention as Junior or Yandy, but I'm not sure this offense is nearly as dangerous without him.

And that's becoming even more important as the Rays get closer to October.

One of my biggest concerns with this team has been offensive consistency.

We have seen Tampa Bay go through stretches where the pitching does enough to win, but the offense simply doesn't provide enough support.

However, the final three games in Texas looked completely different.

The Rays scored at least six runs in all three contests.

Even in Sunday's 8-6 loss, Tampa Bay still finished with 10 hits, four walks, and went 4-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

The offense wasn't the reason they lost that game.

And if you believe in this pitching staff the way that most do heading into the final month of the season, that's a great thing.

Of course, three games doesn't completely erase every concern about what this offense might look like in October, and they have to do it consistently on a nightly basis.

If not, they could risk being swept out of the playoffs, just like they were in 2023 by those same Texas Rangers.

But this lineup is starting to show more consistency, and Aranda is a huge reason why.

Junior might get the MVP conversations.

Yandy might remain one of the most dependable hitters on the team.

Even Liam Hicks might get some more exposure after being a successful trade deadline addition.

But Aranda might quietly be just as important to where this offense goes next.
