The Mesa Solar Sox had an odd second week in the Arizona Fall League, with two scheduled games postponed. As a result, the team played only four games. Mesa, home to eight Boston Red Sox prospects for the fall, went 2-2 on the week and will enter the third week of play, which begins on Monday night, fifth among six teams with a 4-6 record.

Here’s what you need to know about how the Red Sox pitching prospects performed in the second week of AFL action:

Trennor O'Donnell

After tossing three scoreless innings in relief in his first appearance of the fall, O'Donnell struggled in his second. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed three earned runs on three hits in an inning of relief in Mesa's 14-9 extra-inning victory on Thursday night. O'Donnell has now allowed three earned runs on three hits over four innings, good for a 6.75 ERA.

In 15 appearances with the FCL Red Sox, Salem, and Greenville in 2026, O'Donnell, a 2023 eighth-round pick of Boston, posted a 6.69 ERA over 37.2 innings.

Madinson Frias

After allowing one earned run on two hits in two innings of relief in his first fall appearance, the 21-year-old right-hander made his first start of the fall, taking the loss as Mesa fell 5-0 on Saturday night. Frias allowed three earned runs on five hits over 2.2 innings, striking out two and walking one.

Injuries limited Frias, who signed with Boston as part of the 2024 international free agent class, to just eight appearances with Single-A Salem in 2026, where he allowed 23 earned runs on 30 hits across 31 innings.

Nicholas Judice

Judice impressed in his first appearance for Mesa, striking out four and allowing no hits in 2.1 scoreless innings. However, the 25-year-old right-hander didn't fare as well in his second appearance in Mesa's 12-5 loss on Friday night. Judice lasted just 0.2 innings, allowing three earned runs on two hits and issuing one walk.

Judice was originally selected by the New York Yankees in the eighth round of the 2023 MLB Draft. He was traded to the Red Sox in Dec. 2023 as part of the deal that sent outfielder Alex Verdugo to New York.

After missing the first four months of the season due to injury, Judice made eight appearances for Salem, allowing 13 earned runs on eight hits in 12.1 innings of relief.

Harry Blum

Blum allowed one earned run on three hits in two relief appearances during the first week of play. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed one hit and walked two, escaping a bases-loaded jam to toss a scoreless inning of relief, in Friday's loss.

An undrafted free agent signee in 2025, Blum made 40 relief appearances with Salem and Greenville in 2026, posting a 6.41 over 66 innings of work.

Caden Vire

After allowing one earned run on one hit, walking three, and striking out one in two relief appearances in the first six games of the fall league season, Vire did not appear for Mesa in the second week of play.

A Red Sox draftee in the minor league phase of the 2025 Rule 5 draft, Vire spent much of the 2026 campaign recovering from 2025 Tommy John surgery before making 12 relief appearances for Salem, allowing 18 earned runs on 13 hits in 13.2 innings.

Mesa will kick off the third week of play on Monday afternoon, taking on the Surprise Saguaros. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. ET.
