Ranger Suarez had nice things to say about Walker Buehler.

Walker Buehler didn't necessarily pitch great for the 2025 Boston Red Sox, but he still reportedly found a way to make an impact on the 2026 Red Sox.

As noted by Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald, new Red Sox pitcher Ranger Suarez credited Buehler for talking up the organization to him.

Ranger Suárez cited Walker Buehler as one of the people who told him how great the Red Sox chemistry is and what a good place it is to play

Suarez signed a five-year deal with the Red Sox this offseason and was one of the most coveted pitchers in free agency.

About Suarez

Now 30 years old, Suarez is an eight-year veteran of the Philadelphia Phillies who helped them get to the World Series in 2022. He is 53-37 lifetime with a 3.38 ERA and he made the All-Star Game in 2024.

Something interesting to note? He's never thrown more than 157.1 innings in a season, and he doesn't miss many bats: He only had 151 strikeouts in 157.1 innings in 2025.

About Buehler

The 31-year-old Buehler is an eight-year veteran of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Red Sox and Phillies, where he clearly developed a relationship with Suarez.

Buehler is a two-time All-Star and a two-time World Series champion. He went 7-7 for the Red Sox in 2025, pitching to a 5.45 ERA before being designated for assignment.

He latched on with the Phillies at the end of the year, going 3-0 in three appearances and registering a 0.66 ERA. He is still a free agent at the moment.
